We are looking for an ambitious (Junior) Accountant to provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. You will be part of a dynamic team of professionals. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to details. The goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the Finance department.

Responsible for reimbursements through online platform of: -Travel expenses: VIP’s, Speakers, guests and ERS staff, -Registrations fees for all activities -Update list of accounts in CRM database SAP tasks: -Post and process travel expenses, reimbursements and invoices for research seminars (RS), task forces (TF) and doctor’s allowances, -Post and process Swiss invoices (knowledge of Swiss VAT) -Preparation and processing of weekly payments -Monthly exchange rates update (EUR, GBP, CHF, USD) -Management of petty cash in EUR and CHF Other finance tasks: -Management of HOD’s credit cards: monthly collect of receipts, reconciliation and posting -Responsible for creating & reconciling research seminars (RS) and task forces (TF) on SAP -Fellowship: follow-up and payment -Assist the team in yearly tasks during yearly closing, audit and congress Intercompany tasks: -In charge of reconciliation and preparation of documents for external audit purposes for FIRS, CERS, ERSJ & ELF Sheffield (UK)

Administrative tasks: -In charge of yearly renewal of authorized signatures for ERS leadership -Replacement/backup of administrative colleague at ERS reception during absences: mail & scanning, correspondence dispatching of documents, phones, order & follow-up of stationary stock, alarm, preparation of meeting rooms,etc.)

For this position we are looking for a candidate with the following skills:

  • CFC diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2- 4 years of experience in a similar position, ideally in an international environment
  • Rigorous and dynamic, reliable on organisational skills
  • Stress resilient and ability to work in a demanding environment.
  • Excellent organizing abilities
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. SAP)
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, other European languages would be an asset
  • Swiss or C / B valid Permit
