Analytical Chemist (m/f/d / part-time 50-80%)


Job tasks & responsibilities:

  • Directs the development and qualification/validation of analytical testing methodologies, and/or improvement of existing test methods to increase laboratory efficiency and analytical reliability (e.g validation, qualification, etc.) in term of safety, costs, quality, capacity, ecology and stability
  • Initiate and consult on projects in order to improve competitiveness of production processes in term of analytical issues and process optimization in collaboration with the process support team
  • Reviews and evaluates data, test methods, procedures, project reports, deviations, investigations and other (ISO, cGMP) critical documentation generated by analysts, technicians and supervisors for accuracy and compliance with SOP’s, Bayer standards and regulatory requirements
  • Generation of analytical procedures, analytical methods and responsible for documentation of change management (MÄFs)
  • Management of specification e.g. setting of specification and is responsible for complaint management
  • Consult on development of analytical techniques and devices to secure analytical service and drive digitalization
  • Securing of analytical services/expertise - main focus on non-routine analytics (e.g. adhoc (production) samples), cross-contamination, and waste water analytics and provides analytical expertise, consultancy and propose quick solutions in trouble shooting
  • Acts as analytical expert on site and within Bayer worldwide, Screen and evaluate analytical literature and patents to secure competitiveness
  • Document know how (process documentation) and protect IP, e.g. by writing patents, reports, validation reports, etc.
  • As deputy of Laboratory manager responsible for product release (SAP AI and intermediates) and change of QC Plans
  • Cooperation in interdisciplinary project teams
  • Coordinate activities (non-compliance situations, self-assessments /audits / inspections, product transfer)
  • Ensure compliance with external and internal rules and regulations

Job Requirements:

  • Higher degree with minimum MSc / HTL in Chemistry and PhD is a plus
  • Broad experience in development and optimization of analytical methods and chemical processes • indepth knowledge in technical and organic chemistry (e.g. synthesis)
  • Practical knowledge and sound understanding of process qualification, method development, validation etc.
  • Working experience and project management skillsas a plus
  • Highly self-motivated, teamplayer and analytical thinker
  • High Customer focus and Out-of-the-box-thinker who is passionate about questioning the status quo and coming up with creative, lean and fast solutions
  • Strong digital skills with the ability to motivate others and digitize working environment
  • Strong Leadership and communication skills
  • Fluent German and English skills are a must
