The PositionAs the Finance Enterprise Partner, the Area Finance Manager will actively partner with the Area Head Middle East to drive the Business and Finance strategy. In addition, this job includes a role as global Finance Enterprise Partner to the GPS organization as part of Strategic Finance. The Area Finance Manager will also be part of FINET. Through a focus on agile ways of working, empowered decision making within the Finance organization globally and locally, and a shared sense of purpose in bringing medicines to patients, you will be part of continuously improving our operating model to increase effectiveness and to engage and empower our people. This may include adjusting the coverage of areas by the Area Finance Managers as business demands changeThis role reports to the Head of Finance Pharma International and requires an estimated 20% traveling.You are somebody who can partner in discussions beyond Finance. You have a strong Finance background, but understand (or have experience working in) other parts of the business and how they impact financial decisions across the enterprise. You see across areas to identify the best resource allocation, considering short term gains and long term potential. You help identify opportunities for affiliates to network and collaborate, all while maintaining compliance. You will shape, drive and deliver business strategy by applying Finance functional expertise and objectivity. You will inspire the best performance in those around you.You are a strong coach and mentor to the Finance organization and have a passion to develop people in an inclusive environment with a clear focus on increasing diversity. You have affiliate Finance Managers that report to you via dotted line, and you enable them to collaborate and make an impact both in their affiliates as well as in the finance community, clearing obstacles to enable delivery of our mission. You role model this yourself by both making an impact on your area but also in the FINET and the broader finance community.You interface constantly with your peers, as well as with the Area Heads, and other business partners.The key responsibilities include:
  • Strategic business partnering support to shape and deliver Pharma International’s strategy/agenda/goals and long term business plan, including through business partnering with GPS
  • Driving transformation through leadership across Pharma International by embedding agile ways of working, creative leadership mindsets, and applying a rigorous focus on the highest impact and value work through collaboration
  • Driving Finance transformation through actively engaging in the global Finance network and through connecting insights across our global and local commercial organizations
  • Coaching leaders and teams to accelerate effectiveness, develop talents and to operate with lean, fit for purpose governance and processes, and to directly collaborate across the network
  • Clarifying financial guidance, guiding prioritization and steering decisions in the best interest of maximizing Roche value
  • Ensuring effective governance of all Finance practices and ensuring risk management processes and risk visibility are in place
To be successful in this role you will have broad Finance knowledge and Business Partner experience. A Bachelor degree is required, and an MA/MBA is preferred. You display strong stakeholder management, with the ability to influence at all levels and to position ideas and manage expectations in line with an agreed portfolio. You think strategically and are well versed in coaching and relationship-building in a multi-cultural environment. Previous experience as a Finance Manager is preferred.The key skills include:
