Summary

This position is responsible for the execution of the European regional medical affairs plan and tactics for dermatology as well as the development and dissemination of scientific, medical and technical information that are regionally-specific for IAI Medical Affairs Dermatology Europe and strategically aligned for all internal & external stakeholders throughout region Europe for dermatology. This position will also spearhead and maintain key relationships transversally with internal stakeholders, as well as with key external experts and other relevant external stakeholders (e.g. patient or patient organizations) with whom Incyte collaborates.
The position is office-based in Morges, Switzerland.

Responsibilities
  • Lead regional execution of the medical strategy & tactics detailed in the IAI Medical Affairs region Europe plan for dermatology.
  • For external projects, manage interactions and relationships with key stakeholders (e.g. KEEs, patient organizations and medical societies).
  • Drive strong belief internally & externally for Incyte therapies in dermatology.
  • Lead regional cross-functional alignment and education to ensure appropriate incorporation of scientific platform evidence statements into all medical content and communications.
  • Collaborate with any future partner medical teams to develop medical and educational campaigns that support safe and appropriate use of INCYTE products in dermatology as well as the training of field staff and the coordination of multi-country scientific events
  • Adapt, drive and develop regional medical content and communications in line with Global medical strategy and corporate guidelines (examples include slide decks, regional advisory board/investigator meeting content and dossiers for local healthcare technology assessments training materials, global medical training materials for regional needs and support regional medical training needs as appropriate (e.g. through the organization of training sessions)).
  • Leverage global online training platform as needed to address regional needs.
  • Participate in promotional concept discussions and in the review and approval of promotional materials.
  • Critically evaluate the published medical and scientific literature related to INCYTE products and competitive products, and provide regular updates on the European competitive landscape and partners in other INCYTE departments; maintain knowledge of product areas, current trends, and current literature.
  • Support the planning and development of scientific publication materials, including abstracts, posters, slide decks for publication/presentation at scientific congresses, as well as manuscripts in collaboration with the Global team to ensure the needs of region Europe are taken into account.
  • Manage funds and resources appropriately, including medical communications vendors. Oversee annual/quarterly/monthly budget updates, forecasting, and aggregate spend reporting.
  • Ensure the scientific integrity, quality and accuracy of all deliverables with a commitment to ethical practices in the preparation and dissemination of materials as well as appropriate educational materials for patient organizations and patients.
  • Participate as an active member and contributor of relevant dermatology teams. Serve as a role model for compliant behavior that is consistent with the mission, vision and values of the INCYTE organization; ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and guidelines.
  • Contribute positively to a strong culture of business integrity and ethics.
  • Participate in medical & scientific exchanges with the medical/scientific community.

Requirements
  • Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) in a scientific discipline or equivalent required. Relevant professional certification (eg, CMPP, AMWA) a plus.
  • Solid (=5 years) medical affairs or medical communications experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry preferred.
  • Inflammation, immunology & autoimmunity experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, along with the ability to interpret and present /tailor medical, scientific and clinical trial data to various external audiences
  • Strong leadership, planning, and project management skills, along with initiative and the ability to be productive with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding of, and experience with, legal and regulatory framework applicable to interactions with HCPs, payers, advocacy and other business partners.
  • Proficiency with standard software including Microsoft Office, PubMed, Endnote, GraphPad Prism, Datavision as well as with document management, storage and retrieval systems (such as internet residing databases/data-banks)
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
