Reporting to and under the supervision of the Executive Director, Scientific Engagement Multiple Myeloma (MM) or a Senior MM MA Team delegate, this position is responsible for the provision of specific activities in relation to the design and delivery of a comprehensive Medical Affairs program for the GMA MM Team, including the implementation of critical satellite symposia in support of the MM franchise and the organisation and conduction of advisory board involving tier 1 TLs

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, Scientific Engagement Multiple Myeloma (MM) or other Senior MM MA Team delegates, the job holder will build on his/her existing experience in operational Medical Affairs, medical education and communications, publication planning or medical/scientific information and develop a full range of Medical Affairs skills in a growing and dynamic environment. The position will integrate a team of very experienced Senior Medical Affairs professionals and will partner with GMA disease and asset leads or cross-functional partners to develop and support the implementation of the Medical Communication tactical plan. This position will also be supporting the Scientific Engagement Lead in the planning and execution of the different MM Advisory Boards planned as part of the Scientific Engagement Plan. A major focus will be;

The collaboration with the assets leads and the congress team in the identification of the priority events (satellite symposia or other company-supported or company-sponsored communication and educational events) to support as part of the annual scientific communication plan; the continuing collaboration with the asset leads in the GMA MM team who own the primary responsibility of identifying and contacting the key speakers, defining the key messages and approving the speakers’ briefings for company-sponsored communication events (e.g., satellite symposia); the collaboration with the assets leads in the GMA MM team in reviewing internal documents or scientific decks/documents (educational decks, scientific messages, white or position papers, minutes of advisory boards) for medical accuracy and compliance; the interaction with the external providers or agencies in the appropriate planning implementation and execution of the communication events; the continuing interaction with internal functions such as medical capabilities, legal or compliance to ensure full alignment with the company’s requirements the close collaboration with the GMA MM project specialist(s) for the management of the operational aspects required to execute the medical communication plan while ensuring a close adherence to the allocated annual budget the close collaboration with Company affiliates and other internal functions for the optimal management of the communication with external stakeholders, e. g., speakers invited to Company-Sponsored communication events or KOLs invited to attend Company sponsored advisory boards;

This will be done through the active participation to the GMA MM team meeting and operational meetings and when deemed appropriate by the MM Scientific Engagement or Disease Leads also to cross-functional MM Teams and other sub-teams and project groups such a congress planning, budget planning or publication teams.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

Provision of medical and scientific expertise in therapeutic and product specific cross functional teams in reviewing internal documents or educational materials Development and approval of medical marketing and educational materials for Ex US Use; supervision of the data check process when outsources externally to the company; Collaboration with the senior members of the MM GMA Team in managing relations/communication with external Key Opinion Leaders and cooperative groups for external educational event opportunities at international symposium and stand-alone events Under the supervision of the Scientific Engagement Lead MM or other Senior MM MA Team’s Members, contribution to central Key Opinion Leader management programs through planning, organization and participation in Advisory- and Consultant meetings as appropriate Collaboration with the project specialist(s) for the planning, implementation and execution of the key communication planning activities in alignment with the annual budget planning and execution exercise Medical and scientific input on educational materials development and internal education program for staff Management and collaboration with Medical Education & Communication agencies (vendors) to support delivery of events and materials Management as appropriate of the budget allocated to the specific projects Other responsibilities as assigned

Skills/Knowledge Required
  • Scientific degree
  • 7+ years’ experience in medical affairs/clinical development
  • Proven track record of
  • Delivering value in a highly professional Medical Affairs environment
  • Successful KOL relationship building and maintenance
  • experience in the organisation of Advisory Board involving tier 1 KOLs
  • Scientific, clinical or research experience in the field of hematology / oncology
  • Excellent communication, organization and presentation skills
  • Experience and knowledge of the drug development and/or commercialization process is essential
  • Experience and interest in internal training would be advantageous
  • Regular travel required (up to 30% of the time)
