The Investment Assoc Sr Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the IC team and the GMM (on a key relationship) with investment proposals, performance reporting and general portfolio administration

  • Liaise with investment finance on capital markets trades for the team

  • Learn risk, legal & compliance rues and process and ensure adherence to those

  • Work towards taking responsibility and ownership for client relationships

  • Help with marketing initiatives

  • Learn how to provide advice on markets, products, and asset allocation.

  • Promote new products and managers and comprehensively monitor existing ones

  • Co-ordinating product launches within the team

  • Gain solid knowledge in portfolio construction and asset allocation process, trading and managed investments

  • Attending Investment Manager review meetings and disseminating appropriate information to other team members

  • Effectively ensures that client’s risk profiles (IOS) are in line with current clients positions

  • Displays broad base of execution skills, having successfully completed a range of transactions

  • Demonstrates strong creative and interpersonal skills coupled with an entrepreneurial spirit and selling skills

  • Over time building up a client book, starting out with clients with a net worth less than $50 million

Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate Degree Educated or equivalent preferred, however exceptional candidates with relevant experience will be considered

  • CFA or equivalent registration preferred

  • Will be expected to complete relevant regulatory qualifications

  • Fluent English

  • Arabic languages a plus

Skills :

  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and clients.

  • Successful team player with ability to work individually under stress in possibly volatile market conditions

  • Possess high level of professionalism and strong personal integrity

  • High level of competence in Bloomberg, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong creative and interpersonal skills coupled with an entrepreneurial spirit and selling skills.

  • Possesses a broad base of execution skills

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Experience of the financial industry

  • Strong Investment and banking product knowledge.

  • Excellent relationship building skills (with clients, and across hierarchical levels and other functions).

  • Ability to cope with ambiguity & change – high adaptability.

  • Ability to challenge status quo and continuously optimize processes and tasks in own area of responsibility
