Position Summary

Title: Associate Vice President / Vice President, Value and Access Europe

  • This role will be directly responsible and accountable to lead in the Europe the strategy, development and execution of the Value and Access strategy for Rocket Gene Therapies in the Rare Diseases they are indicated for. This will include innovative pricing and contracting models for our current and pipeline assets.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Geographic scope: Europe and UK, at both Regional and country level.
  • Support strategic guidance to build European and Global Value & Access structure for Rocket Pharma. Recommend and build Value and Access structure for the US market.
  • Responsible for the strategic development of Rocket’s assets’ Value Proposition and Patient Economic Journey, at the country level. Design road map to reimbursement by country
  • Present strategic and tactical recommendations leading to a Value & Access plan to Leadership Team, including senior management.
  • Lead Strategy and Plan for Key Payor Stakeholder Mapping (region and country), Development and Engagement
  • Lead financial evaluation of innovative affordability and contracting approaches that can be deployed for use against relevant portfolio assets.
  • Lead Value & Access market research to identify additional innovative pricing & contracting models that would be relevant to current and future assets
  • Partner with MMF, legal, compliance and policy to strategically develop offerings. Additionally, work with necessary groups to translate price assumptions, deal analytics, and contract elements are appropriately captured in the forecast model where needed, provide ad hoc support of BD&L assessments.
  • Lead innovative pricing and contracting analyses including pre-modelling price sensitivity for Rocket products with appropriate stakeholders (payers, physicians) across pipeline, launch, and inline market considerations
  • Partner across the organization to cultivate strong knowledge of Gene Therapy and Rare Diseases with in-depth understanding of market dynamics and forward looking insights and data plus market trends.
  • Drive partnership with internal business partners to define key strategic questions leading Rocket products value proposition. Identify knowledge gaps and develop a plan to address those needs.
  • Oversee efficient and optimal use of Value & Access G&A budget.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing, Business Insights, Business Operations & Finance, Clinical Development and Medical Affairs partners to align Rocket’s products value proposition.
  • Ensure compliance with issues affecting market research execution such as AE reporting, country procedures and compliance processes.

Education/Experience and Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Economics or other analytical major; advanced business degree (MBA) preferred

Experience/Professional Preference:

  • 7+ years of pharmaceutical industry in Commercial and Value & Access roles in Europe top 5 countries (Germany, UK, France, Italy, Spain)
  • Rare Disease and/or Gene Therapy experience and Europe-level experience preferred
  • Strategic thinking with strong ability to synthesize disparate data in order to develop a comprehensive Value Proposition of Gene Therapies in a Rare Disease market
  • Comprehensive knowledge of access landscape, pricing vehicles and contracting strategies.
  • Experience working on a Launch Team with focus of pricing and contracting strategies
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to effectively forecast country, payor and account level prices, discounts and sales.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of Europe healthcare economics and the drivers of pharmaceutical demand, including pricing and reimbursement.
  • Forward thinker who can adapt and grow with the evolving pricing and contracting landscape
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and MS Excel including experience developing financial models
  • Positive attitude. Strong Negotiation Skills. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Effective team building/consulting skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and cross-country teams
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
