JOB DESCRIPTION

Due to the continued expansion of our successful bioanalytical laboratory we are looking for a

Automation & Database Specialist (100%)

Main tasks

Automation

Programming and testing of scripts with Hamilton- and Tecan-Software (Venus, EVOware) in strong collaboration with the R&D team
Support maintenance and qualification of robots hardware
Training of lab staff and scientists in handling the systems

Database Programming

Evaluation and/or programming and implementation of IT solutions (i.e. software tools)
Maintenance of software configuration and databases
Back-up for local IT OSS support
Local network and database administrator
Programming new applications in our electronic lab notebook (Labnotes) for documentation and support of our lab processes
Creating of work instructions and validation documents

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Our requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in a technical or science related field (biology, bioinformatics or chemistry) or lab technician with 3 – 5 year work experience
Excellent IT skills (MS-Office) and advanced programmer skills with common computer language(s)
Experience in lab automation and liquid handling
Familiar with programming of modern liquid handling systems (preferential Hamilton Venus or Tecan EVOware) would be a strong plus
Familiar with computerized system and software validation
Very good oral and written communication skills in English and at least good skills in German
Team-player, reliable, accurate, self-motivated, able to work under pressure, flexible with organizing ability
