As a Biodiversity Specialist – Regenerative Agriculture, you will lead and execute biodiversity science research and innovation - in line with the overall Agricultural Sciences strategy

A day in the life of Biodiversity Specialist – Regenerative Agriculture
  • Gather, interpret and evaluate information about the impact of the transition to regenerative agriculture production systems on biodiversity, including their spatial and temporal variability across the agricultural production system landscape
  • Using the information obtained from this analysis, you’ll inform and influence on diverse issues such as the impact of the operational integration of new technologies and approaches on biodiversity as well as their alternatives in different agro-ecological and socio-economic contexts
  • Research reports and make presentations on findings, including scientific and non-scientific reports
  • Interpretation of biodiversity science to inform company policy
  • Integration of biodiversity knowledge into aspects of agricultural production, role of agronomic practices in ecosystems and the transition to regenerative agriculture
  • Keep up to date with developments in biodiversity and regenerative agriculture science and related areas, as well as other environmental issues and legislative changes
  • Attendance at conferences to keep abreast of the latest developments and to network with people in the profession and in related industries
  • Proposals and bids for new research projects and funding, make presentations, and give seminars
  • Liaison and collaboration with members of the NIAS and other NR institutes
  • Build an effective network of agricultural R&D organisation and other partners and supervise the implementation of R&D workplans and KPI delivery
  • Liaise, coordinate and align on Nestlé’s agricultural research projects’ strategy with the project leads on Agricultural R&D and ensure the required reporting
  • Support the implementation of Nestle’s agricultural R&D projects globally and support and facilitate external trials with farmers, governmental organisations and other partners

What Will Make You Successful
  • Minimum MSc level
  • Biodiversity specialist with global experience in the development and implementation of R&D in annual or perennial plant production systems or general agriculture
  • At least ten years’ experience in biodiversity sciences and agriculture
  • Degree in biodiversity or related discipline. Additional experience in the following subjects may increase your chances: plant science, environmental science, and agricultural production systems
  • Good understanding of global biodiversity / regenerative agriculture science issues. Proven scientific track record an advantage
  • Experience with partnership and stakeholder interaction
  • Fluent in English, Spanish and/or French would be a plus
