Tasks

Actively participate in various projects where biostatistical data analysis is needed whilst contributing to the operation of our Biostatistics team on a day-to-day basis.

Biostatistics related responsibilities:
  • Supports with designing, analyzing, implementing and reporting findings on the biostatistical aspects of clinical studies.
  • Assists in the preparation of clinical trial documents, protocols, undertaking sample size calculations, etc. as required.
  • Assists with the writing of Statistical Analysis Plans for upcoming studies; advises on statistical analysis strategies.
  • When required and alongside the team, provides consultation to clients on experimental design and statistical research approaches, requirements, and scientific standards.
  • At the end of studies, assists the team in biostatistical data analysis of the study results (i.e. defining and programming analysis datasets, writing and preparation of the final Statistical Report, programming of tables, figures and listings...)
Requirements

Specific Skills:
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles, concepts, methods and standards of statistical research.
  • Ability to apply a range of advanced statistical techniques in support of clinical studies.
  • Ability to process computer data and to format/generate reports.
  • Ability to plan, create, program and manage complex statistical computer databases.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and draw conclusions from complex statistical information.
  • Knowledge of SAS programming and/or other statistical software (e.g. R, Stata, SPSS, … ).
  • Knowledge of scientific reporting and manuscript preparation requirements and standards.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to design, analyze, and report on research projects.
  • Strong analytical communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of probability and medical statistics theory.
  • Willing to support our clients with the development of new human/animal medicines, pharmaceuticals, and/or medical devices/diagnostics.
  • Eager to bring your expertise to a diverse, international team and learn new skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and meet pre-defined deadlines with a small team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, maturity, persuasiveness and a high level of discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask and independently set clear priorities.
  • Efficient working style and hands-on “start-up” mentality. Excellent
knowledge of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, …).
  • Fluency in English with strong written and verbal skills are a must. Additional languages are an added benefit.
Educational Requirements:
  • Recent graduate (BSc/MSc/PhD student) in with a degree in life sciences with emphasis on Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, Epidemiology, or related Life science field.
  • Preferably some previous experience in Biostatistical data analysis in the area of Life Sciences.
