If you are passionate about business analysis and want to make an impact in the complex world of international energy trading and sales, this role could be for you. Your primary responsibilities will be to articulate business ideas, suggestions and problems in technology terms, developing technical concepts and solutions to business problems. You will manage requirements at both demand and project levels, provide support to projects and service delivery activities and take a key role in the creation of business cases for change activities together with business stakeholders. This role sits within Alpiq’s D&C business (Digital & Commerce). It can be based at our Swiss offices in Olten or in Prague and will report to the Head of Planning & Design.

Your Main Responsibilities
  • Qualifying demand opportunities with a technical delivery element (business case development, definition of requirement specificiations, etc.)
  • Establishing and iterating on standard business analysis/requirements engineering artifacts such as stakeholder maps, use-case and context diagrams, as well as business process descriptions
  • Working closely with architects to propose solutions for business requirements, ideas and problems in line with target architecture and roadmap
  • Acting as SME on business requirements specifications during design, build and test phases
  • Assisting in quality assurance and testing process as a key reviewer
  • Closely following the technology landscape, business models and key processes of the different business areas within D&C, as well as products, services and SLAs


Your Qualifications
  • Minimum a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification, ideally in engineering, computer science, or a similar discipline
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience, ideally in the energy commodity trading or financial services industry
  • Previous experience with business analysis, requirement engineering and software development methodologies (e.g. Agile, DevOps) or willingness to learn
  • Experience with UML, BPMN, ArchiMate and/or relevant certifications like CPRE is an advantage
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills, team and goal-oriented personality
  • Fluency in English, knowledge of German and French is an advantage
