Business/Data Analyst (80 - 100%)

About the role

In this role you will work as Business Analyst of Data & Analytics solutions enabling better use of data to optimize Reinsurance Core business data storytelling; You will work in a multi-functional environment consisting of technical engineers, visual designers, testers as well as application support specialists; You will interact closely with our business partners and drive development of our solutions from design to delivery in an agile setup with industry-leading BI and big data technology.

The role includes (among others) the following key duties:

• Close collaboration with the Product Owner

• Serve as the liaison between business partners and technology teams to translate technical language into business terminology and vice versa

• Collaborate with business partners to understand and specify their requirements. Rationalize and constructively challenge the requirements, examine alternative options to drive focus on high value improvements and to ensure efficient implementation

• Analyze and structure business requirements ensuring that requirement statements are clear, complete and consistent

• Create specifications that have appropriate level of detail suitable for use by the technology team(s).

• Design the solution using Design Thinking approach with focus on user experience, while collaborating with other co-workers on solution design, definition of functionality and solution implementation

• Support development defect resolution, operational incident and problem resolution and release activities

• Prototype and/or develop Business Intelligence / data analysis solutions

  
  

About the Team

This is an opportunity to become part of our growing team in Reinsurance Data Office and play a pivotal role in shaping Data & Analytics area within Reinsurance global function.

Within this team, our Requirements Engineering chapter is a team of specialists responsible for Requirements Engineering and Business Analysis with a focus on transforming Reinsurance into a data-driven organization

Our mission is to enable better use of data. We create scalable commercial insights for Reinsurance using trusted data that is easy to understand, consistent and integrated across all our product areas. Available via modern, brand-new solutions to a data-literate staff.

About You

You have graduated with a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field.

The most important skills and experience we are looking for include:

• Proven experience with business analysis or requirements engineering

• Experience with development of Business Intelligence, reporting and/or data analytics solutions, ideally in Power BI and/or Palantir Foundry. Programming skills with data scripting languages (SQL, DAX, Python). Experience with machine learning or data science topics is an advantage.

• Proven analytical and conceptual skills to characterize business needs combined with the ability to define solutions at a high level of quality

• Proficient with data visualization and dashboard design best practices. Experience with user-centric design.

• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and re-prioritize around changing organizational objectives and timelines

• Exposure to agile development approaches (e.g. Scrum) and familiarity with tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence

• Orientation to detail

• Re-/Insurance industry experiences is a strong advantage
