Key Responsibilities

This person is expected to manage key cross-carline and cross-functional topics within the Product Planning team:
  • Business plan coordination
  • Coordinate the annual business plan activities which includes establishing a 10-year forecast for the total industry, segments, and for all GM products.
  • Close engagement with key stakeholders in GMNA, GME Retail Network Development, Sales and Finance will help deliver realistic and achievable outcomes.
  • In that role the person is also responsible for supporting the product planning team on GVDP gate reviews and ad-hoc volume assessments.
  • Technology Planning
  • Plan the portfolio and rollout of technology features and vehicle-based digital services in Europe across the full GM portfolio.
  • Provide GM Europe’s voice into future technology definitions (such as advanced driving assistance features) and ensure that European customer and market requirements are met.
  • Participate directly or indirectly (through Global Connectivity Planning) in relevant program/project teams
  • Support market research activities on technology trends to support global & regional portfolio planning initiatives.
  • Close collaboration with the Digital Business Teams (DBT) to ensure vehicle product planning is integrated with digital product roadmaps (e.g. OnStar Safety & Connectivity, Connected Infotainment & OTA, etc.) for Europe.
  • Alignment with key business stakeholders to ensure that commercial offer strategies for global digital products and services are sufficiently integrated into product planning for Europe.

Additional Job Description

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing, Management or equivalent - required.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent – preferred.
  • A background in automotive and/or an adjacent industry is desirable given the special and highly complex nature of the business. Familiarity in relevant product marketing tools such as Jato V5 is a big plus.
  • Keen interest and sound knowledge of technology trends, especially in the area of connectivity, mobile and digital services.
  • Broad understanding of European countries/markets, regulatory boundaries, mobility solutions and customers.
  • Operates with a sharp eye towards understanding customer/market needs and ability to translate into initiatives that shape offerings to address those needs.
  • Ability to make quick decisions with incomplete or ambiguous data. Able to make sound decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.
  • Possesses high energy and resilience. Drawn to and skilled at solving complex problems.
  • Strong and consistent personal ethics and a high sense of integrity.
  • Accountability, Willingness to take risk and to be held responsible. Dedication and ability to manage projects autonomously.
