Tasks
  • Develop and lead new projects, experiments, scientific processes to support the design, generation and characterization of novel of specialized gene therapy vectors and examine their function
  • Actively undertake technology development efforts in the non-viral gene therapy space.
  • Work independently and as part of a collaborative team to design, plan, and execute experiments across multiple projects
  • Keep up with advances in genomics and gene therapy and strategize on prioritizing and onboarding cutting-edge technologies to advance R&D efforts.
  • Rigorous documentation of methods and results in electronic laboratory notebook and written reports
  • Contribute to publications as well as to patents in the areas of non-viral gene therapies and cell biology
Requirements
  • Minimum Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering or related field, PhD (2+) years of industry experience required
  • Extensive hands-on experience with a variety of molecular biology techniques such as cloning, plasmid design, sequence analysis and manipulation, RT-qPCR, assay development, etc. is essential
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and aseptic cell culture techniques
  • Experience with DNA purification with kits and/or chromatography approaches
  • Preferably experience with AAV, lentivirus and/or CRISPR systems
  • Open minded with excellent problem-solving skills, as well as the confidence to work within a fast-paced research field
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously
  • Strong collaboration and team working skills
  • Proven ability to work independently, effectively plan and analyze work activities and prioritize task completion to meet schedules and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communicator in English
