Our client is a global financial services company with several thousand employees.

Job Description

Responsible for financial strategy, financial planning and analysis, financial reports, company audits and managing the Finance department in Switzerland
As part of the Finance Team the placeholder will act as a key interface and point of contact to Management, Group CFO, and Accounting team
Responsible for the overall end to end finance function in the Switzerland including month-end, budget, forecast, year-end, audit, process and cash management
Sparring partner for the country MD at all levels (operationally, tactically and strategically) and supports the country MD in planning and creation of budgets and forecasts
Analyses and challenges assumptions for decision-making and provide financial analysis /guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers
Leads and takes ownership of the annual budget and quarterly reforecast process for the country
Main point of contact for country audit, tax and banking relationships
Collaboration with Group and Regional IT and Finance functions to ensure the optimum use of IT resources and automation opportunities
Manage a small team in Switzerland and potential to expand a team internationally
Mentor and lead the day-to-day activities of the local and remote finance resources
Reporting to Europe Finance Director with dotted reporting line to Country Managing Director

The Successful Applicant

Master Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics, a Swiss CPA is an advantage
10+ years of professional experience in financial accounting department of an international financial services company, big 4 or law firm
Strong understanding of the key drivers and KPIs of performance and is able to explain variances versus budget / forecast related to underlying business activities
Strong accounting, audit, financial management and financial analysis skills with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial colleagues and sparring partner experience
Proven experience with IFRS, Swiss GAAP is a strong advantage
Excellent time management & organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities to meet tight deadlines
Ability to prioritize workload and function effectively within and outside the office in a cross-cultural, interdisciplinary environment
Excellent problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mind-set
Highly result oriented to achieve a high level of quality
Willing to take ownership, hardworking, persistent and team-oriented personality
Fluent in German and English and other language is an advantage
