To strengthen our Product Compliance team, we are looking for a:

CHEMICAL REGULATORY AFFAIRS SPECIALIST

The Chemical Regulatory Affairs Specialist ensures that SICPA’s products and procedures are fulfilling all regulatory obligations pertaining to our business.

ROLE:

  • Run regulatory watch and assessments on a regular basis to detect impacts on SICPA business segments and product portfolio with the aim to mitigate significant risks. Provide estimates on costs, efforts and timelines to support the decision-making process.
  • Be part of cross-functional teams in the frame of supply chain resilience projects (up-stream / raw materials) and product and solution delivery projects (down-stream / finished products) by assessing risks and providing evidence of conformity with the aim to secure market accessibility and assistance to our customers when importing our products.
  • Work in collaboration with R&D teams developing new products as for example polymers and organic/inorganic markers to enable and maintain the fulfilment of regulatory conformity of future generations of security features for banknotes or product markers. Run registration of chemicals when required.
  • Work with project teams in the frame of tender processes by assessing specific requirements according to the application of our solutions such as application on food packaging, jewelry or electronic devices.
  • Develop company-wide standards and best practices, facilitate their international deployment and train local internal stakeholders. Measure the rate of conformity through performance indicators, share the results and ensure the follow-up of running action plans.
  • Assist and collaborate with SICPA legal entities in the fulfilment of local regulatory requirements including customer specific requirements, deal with local service providers and customers to define the most suitable and accurate solution.

PROFILE:

  • BS degree in Chemistry, Engineering or related field, with several years of experience in a position related to regulatory affairs, product safety or product development in the chemical industry;
  • Strong knowledge of chemical regulations. Familiarity with REACH, CLP, GHS and other chemical regulatory schemes is highly desirable;
  • Strong organization skills for work, filing, project management and ability to cope with high workload;
  • Analytical problem solving and decision-making skills;
  • A detailed-oriented individual with a “can do” attitude and ability to work in a team environment as well as individually with minimal supervision;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, essential in dealing with people at all levels and in a variety of functions; able to collaborate with others in order to achieve results;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to present highly technical, complex and detailed issues & topics effectively, in a very clear and concise manner and proven experience writing detailed technical reports;
  • Fluency in English, French is an asset;
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office; knowledge of SAP is considered an asset.
