About The Role
  • Reporting to the Head of Chief Claims Officer (CCO) Office, you will support Claims and other business units to better leverage the use of Claims data when making business decisions. You will be expected to function at a high level, with a great degree of autonomy.
  • We’re looking for a forward-thinking individual who can enhance or current Claims reporting framework, as well as design, develop, and deploy data analytics solutions for large data sets.
  • The individual will be responsible for collecting data and for the preparation of analytical insight to support claims globally (regions and central teams). This will include both formal written analysis evidenced by large sets of data and through the construction/automation of dashboards and structured reporting.

Main Tasks/activities/responsibilities

Create, implement, and continually improve Claims analytics framework
  • Analyse existing claims data
  • Collect stakeholder analytics requirements
  • Provide GAP analysis
  • Improve major analytical deliverables, framework, and roadmap
  • Enhance analytics production process
  • Provide KPI’s analytical insight and analyse claims performance
  • Coordinate and MI Team members in the different regions
  • Collect inputs from business stakeholders in a timely manner and consolidate reportings on claims performance
  • Identify and implement improvements and automation opportunities (data, KPI’s, dashboards, process…)
  • Identify and implement new metrics to evaluate customer service and define targets customer satisfaction and SLA’s.
Statistics and predictive analytics
  • Acts as the organisational authority and established expert on employing statistical techniques in order to generate quantifiable insights on trade-offs between business choices and provide a reasonable view of the most likely outcomes of each.
  • Support claims function by building data modelling and such as Fraud and Recovery predictive analytical models.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines (e.g Underwriting, Actuarial…) in order to provide claims function insights on future change in market portfolio, nature and frequency of claims.
Research
  • Set thought leadership goals, make effective proposals for the investment of funds in projects, play a major role in the development of the organization’s research/thought leadership policy
  • Provide industry level insights to help stakeholders make better business decisions. E.g. What should we do next in order to best position ourselves for the future?
Provide second pass analyses on senior management reports
  • Deliver accurate, relevant, and informative/actionable insights to senior level management across various business units answering the "why?" related to claims trends.
Innovate
  • Find innovative solutions to data issues preventing us from conducting necessary analysis, and explore ways to leverage the use of our data for the betterment of the Claims Handling function
  • Assess machine learning and AI tools to support Claims Handling function
About You

Education and experience
  • BA/BS degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Econometrics, Engineering, Computer Science, Decision Science, Business Management, or other quantitative sciences. Advanced degrees are preferred
  • At least 8+ years of experience in business analytics
  • Hands to keyboard ability to deliver data and analytical projects
  • Advanced knowledge in usage of PowerPoint (& other presentation tools)
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Experience with Excel VBA and Access database
  • Experience in BI / data visualisation tools such as Excel Pivot table, Tableau, PowerBI or Python
  • You can translate ideas into practical solutions
  • Experience with the following preferred: data mining, text mining, predictive modelling, statistical analyses, segmentation, computer simulation, and optimization
  • Primary insurer Claims experience preferred or other primary insurance experience

  • Fluent in English; additional languages (e.g. European) is a plus
