You design large distributed systems and services. By questioning the status quo, you help shape the future of the cloud marketplace.

  • Development, integration and operation of highly automated cloud services such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Kafka and RabbitMQ
  • You take into account subjects like monitoring, alerting, CI/CD and operations
  • You develop new services on public clouds

The team The Cloud Marketplace team consists of multiple highly committed and goal-oriented sub-teams. Together we identify customers’ needs and find sustainable solutions.

The project Cloud is one of Swisscom’s major growth areas. Your main task when working on the Cloud project is to expand the cloud services marketplace as well as develop and operate new features for our Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Kafka and RabbitMQ services. As a DevOps engineer, you develop and operate cloud services end-to-end and are continually looking for solutions that will best serve our customers’ needs.

Your profile

  • Degree (ETH/Uni/College of Higher Education) in computer science or apprenticeship (EFZ – Swiss Federal Proficiency Certificate) in computer science
  • Experience in working in the Linux environment
  • Sound knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language
  • Expertise in automation, monitoring and CI/CD tools
  • Experience with public clouds (AWS, Azure) and with running container workloads on Kubernetes; knowledge of MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Kafka or RabbitMQ is a plus
  • Very good written and spoken English
  • Willing to provide regular on-call service
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills
  • German at least at a basic level
