Biomaterials for Medical Devices - Subject Matter Expert

Our client is a Swiss Biotech group headquartered in region Basel-Lucerne region. All tasks related to development, production and sales of biomaterial medical devices and implants are being carried out from the Swiss site. The products are being marketed through various country affiliates and more than 60 distribution partners worldwide.

Holding an exceptionally large R&D department for regenerative medicine, our client continuously makes significant investments in state-of-the-art technology and equipment. To intensify research and potential new medical applications in this field, we are looking for an expert in Collagen Science, familiar with handling, separation, analytics and material behaviour of this structural proteins.

Your responsibilities

  • basic and applied research and science activities
  • with the goal to discover new and innovative collagen based medical devices
  • plan and execute hands-on research activities for medical collagen applications
  • initiate and develop new and novel collagen based technologies
  • able to work with collagen from different sources
  • be THE internal R&D SME collagen chemistry and biochemistry
  • transfer of prospective new technologies into product development
Your profile

  • MSc, PhD Bioscience, Post-Doc Material Science or Bioengineering
  • 2-5 years relevant experience in collagen research
  • experience of manipulating collagen from various tissue sources
  • experience of manipulating collagen on a molecular level is an advantage
  • expertise in collagen standards and norms
  • knowledge of protein chemistry and relevant analytical methods
