As a Commercial Counsel, you will manage legal and business affairs support to the TOP Programme and the Olympic Games commercial management activities of IOC TMS.

Main responsibilities

This role will report directly to the Head of Marketing Legal & Business Affairs of IOC Television & Marketing Services S.A. (ITMS) and be focused on supporting the drafting, negotiation and review of agreements relating to the commercial management of the Olympic Games in the host territories and the TOP Programme on a worldwide basis. This includes:
drafting and negotiating agreements in relation to, and providing legal support to the ITMS Commercial Integration and licensing teams for the oversight of, all commercial arrangements between the IOC and the organising committees of the Olympic Games (OCOGs) and Youth Olympic Games Organising Committees (YOGOCs);
  • drafting and negotiating agreements with TOP Sponsors, and providing legal support to the ITMS Partnership Management team for the implementation of the TOP Programme on a worldwide basis;
  • advising the rights activation team on legal issues in relation to the TOP Programme;
  • the development and delivery of materials and presentations for internal education and stakeholder education, including OCOG education, partnership reviews and candidature processes; and
  • support on questions of competition law and compliance.
  • This role will also include:
  • commercial legal and business affairs support regarding relations with TOP Partners, National Olympic Committees and others, as appropriate;
  • ensuring that the interests of the Olympic Movement and the IOC are correctly represented;
  • ensuring proper contract management of all agreements and documentation for which he or she is responsible;
  • instructing and supervising any external counsel as required;
  • working closely with and as part of the IOC Legal Department, and other ITMS and IOC functions as required; and
  • other duties as assigned by the Head of Marketing Legal & Business Affairs.
