This role is aligned to the Marketing and Sales Group (Olefins and Aromatics) for the Hydrocarbons & Energy business unit. As part of this international team you will be working closely with a wide variety of suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders in a fast paced, dynamic hydrocarbons market. You will be responsible for the successful implementation of our contracts, price/volume management and overseeing payment activities. You will interact directly with our customers and you will work closely with the Commercial Manager and provide support in sales and purchase activities, as well as participate in customer projects and new developments.

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparation and confirmation of sales, purchase and EST (“exchange, swap and toll”) spot and long term contracts based on input received by Commercial Management
  • Sales order receipt, purchase and EST handling for Europe, including global exchanges, import and export and trading transactions, along with follow up throughout the whole purchase and sales order cycle. This involves transactions by railcar, barge, seagoing vessel, pipeline and tank transfer
  • Contract management including volume and price management and price calculation along with follow up and control of expected price adjustments, including financial reconciliation of exchange, swap and toll balances
  • Own and maintain contract database/overview for both spot and long term contracts.
  • Provide support to Commercial Management in sales and purchase activities
  • Anticipate customer, supplier, internal client and Hydrocarbons & Energy business expectations and identify the best solution
  • Work with finance (business finance and credit) to ensure months/quarters are closed in timely fashion. Maintain overview of payables and receivables.
  • Work with manufacturing plants and supply chain team to identify opportunities in day to day operations to improve efficiency and customer/client service

Requirements:

  • Minimum a Bachelor degree and/or Technical Degree Equivalent
  • Results oriented
  • Creative self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently and within tight deadlines
  • Good planning and persuasion skills are required as well as a strong customer and market focus
  • Excellent team player
  • Very good communication skills, ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and in writing)
  • This is a full time position
