Join a highly successful engineering and technology business. Work as part of a dynamic, cross-functional team. Lay the foundations for a truly international career.
At IMI, we improve everyday life through new thinking and technology. From a valve that can hold the force of a jet engine to heating systems that allow remote troubleshooting via the internet. From state-of-the-art tooling for automotive manufacturers to the machine that makes your morning coffee.
Join IMI within our Precision Engineering Division, and you can gain unique business development experience as part of a highly specialised manufacturer in motion and fluid control technologies that creates breakthrough engineering for a better world. Precision Engineering helps drive the essential systems we all rely on and Norgren, our customer-facing brand, is central to making that happen.
What you’ll be doing
Spend two years playing an active role in our business by managing projects, conducting market analysis, translating identified trends into potential growth opportunities and making data-driven decisions. This role will help you gain experience in many different aspects of global business development. At the same time, you will be able to build a network of contacts and collaborators across the organisation that will prove invaluable to you in your ongoing IMI career.
You’ll be involved in several key areas, including Sales and Marketing. From day to day, you could be editing marketing materials to keep them up-to-date and on-brand, finding solutions to problems customers face regularly, build market/customer roadmaps, or analysing website analytics to see where we can improve our processes. Working within the growth areas of the business, you’ll make an impact from day one.
What you need
Our programme is highly international in nature. So, as well as having the right to work in Switzerland, it’s important that you are willing to relocate, including to other countries for rotations and on completion. It’s also essential that you have fluent or advanced written and spoken English and are proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint). Someone with an Engineering degree and an interest in business would be ideal, allowing you to understand the products we offer in depth.
In addition, you must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent) in a business related degree discipline, such as:
- Accounting
- Business Studies
- Economics
- Marketing, Communications & PR
- Sales & Product Management
Key qualities we’re looking for include:
- Fresh, innovative mindset
- Openness to new and varied experiences
- Ability to drive your development and take ownership of your career
- Very customer orientated
- Fluent written and spoken French capabilities
What we offer
On top of a great rewards package and an opportunity to gain international exposure, you’ll get early responsibility, experience of different functions, coaching from a dedicated senior mentor, and the chance to develop high-level skills – everything you need to get your career off to a flying start. The graduate development team will also be on hand to provide help and advice whenever you need it.
