Communications Manager / Spokesperson

Job Summary

As a Communications Manager / Spokesperson you will be working in a small, ambitious head office team with an international scope. The open position reports to the Head of Communications & Brand Management. Your principle tasks comprise the creation of multimedia content for publication across all channels and editorial work for a variety of formats. You will oversee communication activities and selected projects independent of the functional focus of your role and act as a company spokesperson.


Job Responsibilities

  • Support the development/coordination of the communication agenda
  • Plan, create, edit and coordinate multimedia content (text, photo and video) for internal and external communication formats, including our corporate website, our social media channels and other external and in-house formats and channels
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our communication channel landscape, including support to our Employee App project and the management of our external website
  • Work towards ensure consistent global messaging across all channels
  • Handle media enquiries, draft statements, Q&As, briefings and media materials
  • Work with international communication/PR agencies
  • Act as an internal communications ambassador in our global organization
  • Principle Project: Define a group social media concept, restructure/streamline international social media landscape and define a social media content policy and planning process

Key Performance Indicators (optional. Typically used for management positions)

  • Independent, high-quality copy-writing for staff, media and social media audiences.
  • Constructive and successful contributions in an integrated Group Communications team.
  • Successful and timely project planning, project management and implementation.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Communications, Journalism or Business Management
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate communications, either as an internal communications editor and/or media relations officer, preferably in an international environment
  • Talent for multi-media content creation, story-telling and targeted messaging for internal and external audiences. Experience in creating semi-professional videos, including cut/sound.
  • Advanced experience with social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook)
  • Excellent English writing skills (near-native), good oral and written knowledge of German. Knowledge of French is an additional asset
  • Practical experience with content management systems
  • Project management skills and attention to detail
  • Good at setting the right priorities and completing tasks efficiently and on time
  • Effective at communicating with stakeholders of all levels within the organization
  • Quick understanding of complex problems and self-driven problem-solving skills
  • Creative mind with a pro-active and positive can-do attitude
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office applications
