Job Description

As a Communications Manager you would be responsible for PR activities targeting the media, our clients (primarily banks and wealth managers) and other key stakeholders. You would be part of our Zurich-based Communications team which is part of Avaloq’s Marketing & Communications department – a diverse and international group of professionals who all share the passion to shape the digital transformation of the financial industry.

Your mission
  • Define and execute highly targeted PR plans to drive Avaloq’s media relations and client communications efforts globally
  • Contribute to an active newsroom approach with the goal to build and maintain a strong thought leadership driven content engine
  • Foster results-oriented collaboration with an international network of PR agencies to raise Avaloq’s media profile in key markets
  • Arrange for designated Avaloq spokespersons to be covered in relevant publications to share our unique story and insights
  • Position Avaloq as a thought leader in our industry through proactive and creative content creation based on a multi-channel approach
  • Create and edit engaging content for paid and earned media, as well as for our owned media, such as avaloq.com, social media and the intranet
Qualifications

What you need
  • Higher education in Marketing and/or Communications, or in related fields
  • 5+ years of experience in financial journalism and/or in an international business environment, preferably in the banking/finance industry, in the IT/software sector or in agencies/consultancy
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English, German being a big plus
  • Professional copywriting ability with an in-depth knowledge of the financial industry and technological trends
  • Profound experience in corporate communications and issue management
  • Well versed in creating high-quality concepts and successfully executing projects
  • Willingness and ability to take ownership of challenging subject matters
  • Accustomed to dealing with and advising senior executives
  • A deep interest in the digitalization of wealth management and trends in financial technologies
