Continuous Improvement Manager-
Your future role?


As a Continuous Improvement Manager, you will apply and spread continuous improvement knowledge in Givaudan, and you will support CI capability building through training. You will lead the implementation of continuous improvement projects within Vernier site to embed best practices, reinforce our continuous improvement mind-set and refine non-value added activities.


You will be based in Vernier and will report to the site Continuous Improvement Lead.

In this exciting opportunity, your main responsibilities will be the following:


Strategy design and execution:

  • Facilitate the design of Site/Business Unit strategies while ensuring the alignment from Global, Regional, and Functional into Site strategy. This includes identification, selection, prioritization of improvement initiatives and resource allocation & execution timeline
  • Setup strategy deployment governance at site/ business unit and department level to ensure execution

People Engagement:

  • Establish a positive first contact with CI for all employees and enable engagement
  • Promote good practices sharing in teamwork
  • Introduce and/or coach Visual Performance Management System as universal practice for everyone to manage performance for all departments

Capability Building:

  • Develop people by delivering training, coaching and mentoring for all CI Methodologies
  • Mentor/Coach Belts, and manage the certification and recognition events

Problem Solving:

  • Coach project teams in applying effective problem solving (root cause analysis) to develop solutions and initiate change
  • Support teams to identify problems that must be solved using right CI Methodology and Tools
  • Setup a tollgate review governance for all Site improvement projects

Performance Management:

  • Set up and help implement daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly performance management reviews at shift, departament and site level including the definition of lagging and leading indicators

Continuous Improvement Maturity Assessment (CIMA):

  • Train/Coach/Assess the Site in the CIMA Excellence maturity journey
  • Enable site team to achieve its roadmap & results through site CIMA implementation

Process Efficiency:

  • Train, coach and inspire teams in applying relevant CI tools and methodologies for improving Site Processes and Asset Efficiencies
  • Partner with the Local process owners and Regional/Global process experts to develop and apply solutions and good practices at site level

Work Standards:

  • Support process owners on development and maintenance of work standards
  • Enable teams to apply and comply with work standards (e.g. SOPs, OPLs)
  • Promote good practice sharing across the sites and within the region

Business Impact:

  • Lead or support specific business improvement projects for the site
  • Manage the pipeline of improvement projects to deliver impact and track strategic progress at site/department level
  • Drive implementation progress of approved CI projects/programs, monitoring resource plans, project team accountabilities, change requests, deadlines, milestones, etc. and manage periodic updates to project stakeholders
  • Responsible for reporting the financial and non-financial benefits at site level

Your professional profile includes:


  • University degree
  • LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt certification required; Black Black is an advantage
  • 5 or more years of experience and at least 2-3 years in a Lean Six Sigma implementation role
  • Experience in people management
  • Proven results on leading improvement projects, training, coaching, assessing
  • Exposure to cross-functional teams and projects
  • Good knowledge of product processing and industrialization processes.
  • Good skills in project management using TPM, Lean Six Sigma, Strategy Deployment/x-matrix Good skills in stakeholder management and communication
  • Good skills in process mapping and design
  • Good knowledge of value chain diagnostics tools
  • Ability to empower and enable cross- functional team in a matrix organization
  • Willing to challenge status quo & look for more effective ways to meet key process/business objectives
  • Good knowledge of EHS rules and guidelines
  • Good knowledge of financial concepts (e.g. OPEX, CAPEX) and tools (e.g. SAP)
