As a Contract Management Specialist for R&D, you will provide efficient support to the R&D staff to ensure that the collaborations with External Partners are well protected from a legal point of view (appropriate R&D contracts) and that rights and obligations are respected once R&D contracts are signed.

A Day in the Life of a Contract Management Specialist for R&D
  • Assist/coach NSTC project teams and validate their R&D contract drafts (consultancy, service, confidentiality, material transfer contracts, etc), before the release to External Partners for review and negotiations
  • Actively support NSTC project teams during the negotiations with the External Partner
  • Release the final version of the contract/amendment for signature, ensuring in particular:
    • Contractual management of intellectual property ownership
    • Quality and compliance of the payment schedule and terms in accordance with Nestlé Procurement rules and best practices
    • Quality and compliance with time schedule and terms of deliverables
  • Manage records and archives of signed contractual documents in accordance with Nestlé rules and best practices
  • Advise NSTC project teams, during the implementation and follow-up of the contract, on:
    • The interpretation of signed contract clauses, including in case of disagreement with the External Partner
    • The need for any amendment, extension, termination, in case of any deviation versus the signed contract
  • Track progress of contract negotiations and involve Nestlé R&D Legal Counsel if required

What Will Make You Successful
  • Successful 3-5 years of experience in R&D environment, including basic legal skills in R&D contract and supplier management
  • Basic Knowledge of legal clauses of contracts regularly used in R&D organization and of IP rights including patents
  • Understanding of global legal regulations e.g., confidentiality, intellectual property, anti-trust
  • Project management skills, in particular expectations in terms of external collaboration
  • Curious & proactive with service-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication and prioritization skills
  • Hight detail-orientation & ability to apply rigorous way of working
  • Autonomous, self-starter with ability to work independently as well as in a team, on versatile activities
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office (Outlook, Word)
  • Fluency in English, French would be a plus
