Core Network Engineer (CS & IMS)

Crissier / VAUD - Switzerland

Permanent Role

Our client, a well known Telecoms Company, is currently looking for aCore Network Engineer (CS & IMS domains)to work in one of their projects based in Crissier / Vaud – Switzerland.

The Role

  • As a member of the Core Network team, you will design, implement and operate Salt’s core network, covering fix voice, Mobile Circuit Switch,Mobile Packet Switch and IMS.
  • Evolution of Salt CS and IMS core network (planning & implementation).
  • Plan and implement routing changes
  • Setup, test and validate new network nodes
  • Setup, test and validate interconnection with other operators or MVNOs
  • Operate / maintain CS / IMS Core HW and SW
  • Customer complaint trouble shooting / incident resolution
  • Capacity management.
  • Performance management.
  • 24/7 on call rota

Skills and Experience required:

  • Degree in telecommunications or equivalent.
  • Very good knowledge on CS and IMS mobile core network with at least five years’ experience in level 1 and level 2 support.
  • Proven expertise in CS and IMS Core network planning, implementation, operation and troubleshooting
  • IMS is a must have
  • Should be able to SW upgrade and maintain the IMS and CS platforms.
  • You are at ease working on different network nodes: MSS, MGW, TAS, CSCF, SBC, AAA, PCRF, ePDG, eNUM
  • Experience in operating and upgrading Nokia IMS VNFs on virtualised environments based on OpenStack.
  • Experience in performing SW upgrades on Nokia ATCA MSS & MGWs
  • Knowledge and / or experience on VoNR is a plus.
  • Experience with MVNOs is a bonus.
  • In depth knowledge of standard internet protocol suite (TCP/IP).
  • You are at ease using UNIX based systems and databases.
  • Protocols: SS7, SIP, MAP, CAP, Diameter
  • Good analytical and abstract thinking skills: Able to find innovative solutions to complex problems. Team worker. Willing to make a contribution and to make a difference.
  • Easily approachable, friendly, & proactive in identifying areas for improvement.
  • Required languages : English.
  • French or German languages are a plus.
