Our client is a vertically integrated energy producer with trading office in Zug / Switzerland. The commercial company and team in Zug is still small, but constantly growing. To strengthen the Finance department, we are looking for an eager and motivated

Corporate Accountant

Task and responsibilities
  • Continuously communicate and work in close cooperation with CFO, head of accounting, treasury, FP&A, external services provider on monthly/annual closings
  • Prepare the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for the group according to IFRS and the statutory financial statement according to Swiss Code of Obligations
  • Manage and organize the general ledger and sub-ledger
  • Post daily journal entries independently in the general ledger and sub-ledger
  • Ensure the regular reconciliation of IC balances including the allocation of intercompany services
  • Analyse the financial statements (monthly, quarterly and annually) and assist in the preparation of forecasts / budgets
  • Be an experienced contact person for the internal and external audits and tax advisors
  • Support special tasks and various projects in the CFO area
  • Develop and execute more structured and automated data-flows & reporting processes
  • Handle questions from all levels of the organization, peers, board members, finance teams from sister companies
  • Respond to day-to-day requests, issues, and other outreach from our internal clients living the Group values and principles
  • Ensure and further develop of accounting processes and the internal control system (ICS)
  • Manage a junior accountant
Your profile

Must-haves:
  • 3 - 5 years of solid experience in similar role
  • Independent, reliable and accurate way of working
  • Organized, goal-oriented and flexible
  • Team player
  • Very good knowledge of Abacus
  • Completed commercial and administrative qualification
  • Chartered Specialist in Accounting and Financial Management (Federal Diploma of Higher Education)
  • Very good knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS and Swiss Code of Obligations)
  • Experience in leading financial accounts independently
  • Knowledge of Swiss VAT
  • Very good knowledge of German & English
  • Experience in an international organization
  • Familiar with Microsoft office tools
  • EU/EFTA Permit B

  • Experience in the commodity trading sector
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience in hedge accounting
