JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join MSC Cruises Finance team as Cost Controller. The position of the Cost Controller aims to improve planning, optimization and control of the ship operating expenses. Key areas of oversite include maritime costs such as ship repair & maintenance, fuel and energy management, port charges, crew expenses and product costs associated to the ships’ hotel operations. The position reports to the manager responsible for global management reporting and ship profitability analysis, and its role is highly valuable to bring improvement in the ship itinerary planning.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

•Oversee and coordinate the financial planning for the ship operating costs

•Analyze and increase reliability of cost information to ensure transparency in costs results

•Interact with ship management stakeholders for all relevant activities associated to ship operations

•Guide the elaboration of qualitative and quantitative analysis for ship maritime and hotel expenses

•Identify and drive opportunities to achieve cost efficiency and cash flow generation

•Identify KPIs and key metrics to ensure effective cost control

•Assist in the definition of both shore and onboard targets

•Prepare analysis to facilitate decision making to ensure financial and cost targets are met

•Assist investments analysis for projects aimed to improve ships’ performance

•Assess economic risks associated to ship operations

•Contribute to identify and improve reporting system, processes and procedures to enhance cost control

•Support the preparation of global reporting and profitability analysis

Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills

•Proved solid knowledge of shipping/cruise industry and at least 7 years of experience in similar roles

•Fluent in English

•Experience with multinational, large companies

•High level of accuracy and attention to details

•Proficiency in managing high and complex volume of data

•Advanced skills in MS Office applications and use of ERP and Corporate Performance Management (CPM) systems

•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

•Team player and excellent communicator

•Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Experience and Skills

SAP and Tagetik knowledge


VISA REQUIREMENTS

EU Nationality or right to work in Switzerland.
