The Data Analyst is the essential conduit between the stakeholder community of various levels of seniority; subject matter experts from Group Compliance, Regulatory & Governance (GCRG); and IT.

Your team

You’ll be working in the Monitoring, Surveillance and Controls (MS&C) team within the wider Group Compliance and Regulatory Governance (GCRG) function and will be based in Zurich. MS&C is mandated to independently identify, assess, mitigate and manage compliance risks in the area of AML, KYC, suitability, cross-border, fiscal topics, market conduct and communications monitoring and to evaluate the appropriateness of procedures and guidelines to mitigate such risks on a proactive basis. As a Data Analyst you will be responsible for obtaining, structuring and analyzing relevant data which then will be used by fellow MS&C colleagues to perform post monitoring controls. In this role you are an integral part of the control lifecycle process and you will have room to explore efficiency opportunities (e.g. programming; automatization of data extraction) and work autonomously.

Your expertise

  • a degree in business administration, banking and finance, economics, engineering or similar subject
  • 5+ years data analysis experience in the financial industry, ideally relating to the area of Compliance, Audit, Risk, Wealth Management, Investment Bank, Asset Management, Retail or Corporate business
  • the ability to work with data from various sources and make sound conclusions
  • very good knowledge of SQL, Microsoft Office tools, data query tools like TOAD and reporting tools such as Business Objects/Tableau/Microstrategy
  • client orientated and able to build sustainable collaborative relationships
  • analytical and documentation skills with the ability to provide practical solutions
  • able to focus on details and quality in a fast paced and demanding environment, you are a flexible and resilient team player with a positive attitude who can also work autonomously
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills – ability to communicate complex issues succinctly and clearly, fluent in German and English
