We’re seeking a Data Science Intern to support us in conducting strategic data analyses and further unlocking the potential of business data at our disposal. This role requires a candidate with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills as you’ll often be asked to work closely with others across different departments. You would be joining the Data & Automation Team at CARIFY, directly reporting to the Departmental Head.

Tasks

• Use data analyses and statistical techniques to develop solutions to improve customer/partner experience and to guide business decision-making
• Identify predictors and causes of business-related challenges and implement novel approaches related to forecasting and prediction
• Build data-driven reports, dashboards and queries using SQL knowledge (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SqLite)
• Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present tailored business recommendations
• Derive business value and improve the digital connectivity to the stakeholders by designing models and performing analytics on social networking data
• Support internal departments by designing tailored real-time dashboards aimed at assessing business performance and monitoring KPIs
• Work with structured and unstructured data from various sources (e.g., sales, advertising data, customer reviews, product ranking, search term ranking etc.)
• Use machine learning algorithms (e.g. text mining, forecast, classification models) and analytical approaches to identify recurring business patterns
• Develop and implement cross-functional data solutions aimed at feeding automated workflows with live data and increasing departments efficiency
  

Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor or equivalent degree in Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Management Engineering, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics or related technical discipline
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including strong working knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets
• SQL Basic/Intermediate Programming Skills (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite)
• Knowledge of other main Programming Languages considered a plus (e.g. Python / R)
• Problem-Solving Ability, Business Acumen and Passion for Big Data / Data Challenges
• Excellent Communication and Data Presentation skills
• Fluency in written and spoken English
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters or equivalent advanced degree in Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Management Engineering, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics or related technical discipline from a top-tier university
• Professional experience in data processing with SQL, Python and R and hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Google Data Studio, Power BI, Tableau)
• Professional experience in manipulating/transforming data, machine learning model selection, algorithm training, cross-validation and deployment at scale
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Zapier, Integromat, n8n and CRM Software like Hubspot, Salesforce would be a great plus.
