Your field of responsibility


The Trade & Market Surveillance Analytics Team is focusing on building strategic and global trade & market surveillance solutions for Financial Crime Compliance within Credit Suisse. We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Data Scientist to support the team and our stakeholders in studying complex business questions and translating them into fully automated and data driven analytics solutions. Your responsibilities include user engagement, business requirement definition, pipeline engineering, model and front-end development on our strategic big data platform and in close collaboration with peers, business users and stakeholders.

The Trade & Market Surveillance Analytics Team is part of the highly visible and dynamic Compliance Data & Analytics area and is focusing on building strategic and global trade & market surveillance solutions for Financial Crime Compliance within the firm. Your skills and experience


We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and background:

  • A PhD or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Computer Science)
  • Excellent and flexible programming skills, preferably PySpark and/or Scala. Experience with JavaScript React and CSS development is a plus
  • Advanced technical skills related to data discovery and data cleaning, data modelling, data mining and performance tuning
  • Good understanding of financial products and markets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and emphasis on accuracy
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate and present complex technical information to a generalist audience
  • Be a self-starter with a strong curiosity for extracting knowledge from data and the ability to elicit technical requirements from a non-technical audience
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities change quickly
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive culture and value diverse perspectives
