Application Specialist - Cellomics & Proteomics 80-100%

What you will do

In this role, you will focus on developing, enabling, and promoting applications and workflows based on the needs of our customers and our strategic partners. You will apply your technical and scientific knowledge to develop easy to use lab automation solutions covering Proteomics, Cellomics, Synthetic biology, Bioprocessing, Microbiology and more. You are comfortable producing customer facing technical documents and application notes and are available to present as a technical expert on our products.

Responsibilities will include

• Develop robust automated scripts on Tecan’s platforms using best practices
• Demonstrate and promote our solutions both internally and externally
• Assemble necessary quality documentation and technical marketing materials for script release as well as create and present posters and presentations on work executed individually or with external partners
• Provide technical presentations and training to internal and external stakeholders
• Understand customer’s problem with the application, define necessary counter measures and, if necessary, implement them
• Maintain awareness of market trends in area of expertise, provide feedback on tested products
• Test hardware and software components for new or improved solutions

What you bring along

• Master with 2 years of relevant professional experience or PhD biology and related fields
• 2-3 years hands-on experience in an academic or industry setting
• Experience in working with customers e.g. collecting requirements, delivering on expectations
• Experience with programing automation platforms or basic scripting knowledge
• Good lab working practices, data management and presentation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; any other languages would be a plus
• Solid scientific knowledge in cell biology or microbiology or protein science as well as the ability to discuss scientific topics with a variety of different stakeholders
• Willingness to travel
