Field Automation Specialist

What you will do

In this challenging and important role you will be responsible for the installation, validation, preventive service, trouble shooting, repairs, customer training, and sales support and demonstration in respect of all Tecan products. You will be a key player to build customer confidence and enhancing Tecan’s service reputation.

Responsibilities will include

• Perform instrument installation, including qualification and implementation of applications, as well as problem diagnosis, repairs, preventive maintenance and upgrades
• Provide customer training on use, maintenance and troubleshooting
• Share information obtained from unique problems or specialized training to the Field Application Specialist team and the Tecan organization
• Perform record keeping of service calls and other service documentation according to company policy
• Maintain appropriate parts inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies.
• Provide back-up service support outside of assigned territory, as needed
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications
• Communicate and cooperate with the Project Management and Service Management, with other departments, with manufacturers and suppliers
• Support sales representatives at their sales efforts, product demonstrations and trade shows

What you bring along

• Degree in natural science or engineering
• Minimum 3 years of field service experience
• Customer-oriented and problem solver
• Effective communicator and team player
• Very good German and English skills, others language would be an advantage
• Willingness to travel
