In this role you will be responsible to develop or create products, systems, services or technologies for ABB´s Divisions by leading and managing the execution of one or more complex R&D projects or a program to meet project targets. You will also be responsible to coordinate work of multi-location and cross-functional project team/s and lead in partnership with business managers, steering groups, product management and external parties and ensure value creation.

Main responsibility is to lead the organization of programs and making sure to deliver on the BU decided KPIs. Moreover, feedback on people performance in the program execution is to be given and documented. You will be working in a global organization understanding ABB’s customer values, product properties and goal values from a robot development perspective. Provide new thinking to push R&D into an enabler for future robotics business opportunities.

Your responsibilities
  • Manage global large program organization.
  • Create a global lean & efficient program organization.
  • Change mindset of R&D to promote modular thinking of platform and products in contrast to single development projects.
  • Collaboratoin with other colleagues within R&D, Product Management, SCM, QPEX and Production.
  • Project and program portfolio leadership.
  • Management of several global programs, manage uncertainties and risks.
  • Stakeholder relations.
  • People leadership.
Your background
  • Education: MS/PhD in Computer Science, Mechanical engineering, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience: 10+ years R&D development, 5+ years in project and/or line management
  • Prerequisite: international experience with a minimum of 2 years international assignment
  • General competencies: Change management, global mindset, problem solving, teamwork skills, time management, positive attitude to work, strong results orientation
