Job Description

The ideal candidate for the Head of Experiential Marketing position embodies the maverick mindset and is driven to create immersive experiences for our intenders and rejecters alike. Bringing a growth mindset, this position will lead the development of experiential moments aimed at building personalized, engaging, effortless, long-term customer relationships resulting in greater share of wallet and brand affinity. Partnering with groups such as Customer Experience, Digital Business Teams, Product, Network & Distribution and Design, this position will collaborate with leaders across GM to redefine the way consumers access engage with our brands and products. This position requires someone who is an innovator beyond any category. A progressive track record with a proven ability to lead change, collaborate across all functions, and effectively prioritize in an ambiguous / fast-paced environment is a must.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage consumer insights and competitive opportunities to guide development of the brand experience strategy and tactics
  • Work closely with Customer Insights and the agency partners to develop the strategy, and to define target market definition, positioning, and key messages
  • Ensure experiences will meet the needs of the BEV and BEV luxury customer while instituting a brand advantage in this space
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and execute the brand experience strategy with key stakeholders including: alignment and implementation of the strategy across Design, Engineering, and GM Customer Experience Organization
  • Collaborate with PR to develop and execute a storytelling strategy
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to develop a compelling consumer messaging strategy (CRM, hand-raiser engagement, etc.) which utilizes appropriate media tactics to gain scale of message
  • Collaborate with the Sales Operations Team to execute the strategy at the transaction
  • Manage relevant program initiatives while working closely with the Head of Marketing to ensure experiences drive brand and nameplate value
  • Lead implementation plan working across the broad organization and driving budget decisions to activate on the strategy
  • Serve as Brand Experience SME for GM Europe to the GM organization. Provide guidance to develop an approach to execution of the strategy

Required Skills And Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • High level of diverse marketing experiences required
  • Ability to make quick decisions with incomplete or ambiguous data. Able to make sound decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.
  • Ability to make/recognize effective trade-off decisions and can negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups, can win concessions without damaging relationships.
  • Ability to breakdown barriers and quickly achieve high impact progress within a bureaucratic organization. Ability to work well in a complex team environment and marshal resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things done; uses resources effectively and efficiently.

  • Highly effective presentation skills in a variety of formal presentation settings: one-on-one, small and large groups with peers and bosses, inside and outside of the organization
  • Ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles; can get messages across that have the desired effect
