THE ROLE:
This is a Research and Development position managing sensory capabilities in fragrance and skin care categories to enable the development of brilliantly irresistible products and experiences. You will be reporting to the Director of CPI, Sensory & Prospective Insights who is responsible for the team supporting innovation programs with trends and consumer insights to serve Coty’s Industry leading brands.

As Sensory Manager, you will take the lead on:
Developing skin care products understanding, identifying relevant sensory insights, and ensuring your learnings are embedded into these programs Driving our Consumer Fragrance Testing program (for fragrance / skin, sun & body care categories)

Thanks to your strong networking abilities, you will be working in close collaboration with sensory scientists from other categories in a Community of Practice, the Consumer & Product Insights team, the Innovation & Technology skin, sun and body care team, Product Development (formulation), Fragrance Design, Packaging and our colleagues from the Olfactive Cell.
More specifically, this will include : Identify the best appropriate methods to be able to define sensory drivers of success Owning the testing phase by planning and overseeing the execution of sensory tests: developing protocols where needed and documenting those in the Sensory Quality Manual, designing tests Owning data reporting: analyzing data with adequate statistical methods, writing sound and scientifically accurate reports, communicating results and findings. Create and manage a database of sensory and formulation data to help building predictive models. Managing and developing a team of two Sensory Scientists.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS / COMPETENCIES
Scientific background – Master’s degree in Sensory or Consumer science – Biology or Chemistry or equivalent. Min. 5-7 years of experience in a similar role, most preferably in the personal care industry. Experience with one of the standard Sensory packages (Fizz, EyeQuestion, Compusense) needed. Excellent analytical skills, ability to use advanced statistical & data mining methods, data visualization. Ability to program in R is a plus. Analytical mindset with capacity to manage different activities at the same time. Pro-active, self-motivated, self-starter. Able to set priorities, respect deadlines. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Strong ability to engage with a varied audience. Demonstrated high level of team spirit but also strong ability to work independently. Fluency in French and English. An interest in the Beauty world is highly advantageous.
