Key Responsibilities:
Explore, develop and apply advanced methods to analyze volatile and non-volatile compounds in complex samples relevant to the fragrance, flavor and food industries.
Within the global analytical team, play a leading role in the development and use of expert analytical methods to answer a broad range of questions related to regulatory aspects of flavor and fragrance ingredients, ranging from the authentication of natural ingredients and the assessment of their compliance with applicable legislations to the elucidation of biodegradation pathways.
Understand the needs of partners from other teams including regulatory affairs, creation palette management, flavorists, perfumers, procurement. Identify their challenges and use appropriate analytical techniques to provide relevant results.
Capitalize on knowledge and experience in advanced analytical approaches to solve difficult analytical challenges.
Communicate project results proactively to a diversity of stakeholders and document final accomplishments in reports and external publications or presentations.
Build strategic scientific relationships with external experts, occasionally contributing to regulatory task forces.

We value:
PhD, preferably with post-doctoral experience, specialization in analytical chemistry, with a minimum of 5 years of experience, or M.Sc. with at least 10 years of experience in a relevant field of activities
Expertise in separation science for both volatile and non-volatile molecules (GC, GC/MS, HPLC and LC/MS)
Experience with natural flavor and fragrance ingredients (composition, process), their use for creation, and regulatory aspects associated with them is an asset
Understanding of registration constraints for chemicals (fate and effect in the environment, toxicology, naturality and traceability, etc…)
Out of the box thinking, ability to challenge existing scientific approaches, to proactively suggest new solutions to known topics, and to implement them
Sound knowledge of organic chemistry is an asset
Interdisciplinary mindset
Attention to details and rigorous approach of scientific challenges
Curiosity and passion for flavor and fragrance ingredients and how they are used for creation
Excellent team spirit, superior communication skills, networking and influencing abilities
Fluent in English, most preferably also in French
