What you will do

In this new and challenging role, you will manage the planning and execution of Tecan’s thought leadership campaigns as well as content curation and media relations.

Responsibilities will include

Media:

• Translate brand elements into plans and go-to-market strategies. Cooperate and coordinate the brand across all divisions of the company: from internal comms, to employer branding, to IMMs and regions.
• Provide strategic media relations plans, secure strategic media placements, and facilitate to execute media relations outreach assisting corporate reputation and business goals and positioning Tecan as a global thought leader in existing or new fields.
• Manage media processes and relations for the company: from media events to press releases and all editorial material across the divisions, along with initiatives defining company story. Measure and report performance of all marketing campaigns and assess ROI and KPIs.
• Main reference for IMM team in developing product media campaigns as well as across other divisions. Establish performance specifications, cost and price parameters and support framing and development of main message points in alignment with corporate strategy and through the appropriate channels.
• Prepare speeches, talk points and varied communications materials assisting company spokesperson.

Content:

• Develop a content strategy that encompasses the goals and image of the company aligned with short-term and long-term marketing targets. Own the editorial calendar which includes all opportunities generated by media planning campaigns across the company and the press releases calendar.
• Develop content strategy and processes by collaborating with marketing teams. Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather the necessary information for the development of concepts and content for campaigns.
• Own and drive the organization’s thought leadership campaign and oversee content production agencies’ creation and management of targeted content as well as monitoring of effectiveness.
• Stay abreast of current best practices in the industry and review competitor websites.
• Manage agencies of content writers and design to ensure brand consistency, plan and develop site content, style, and layout.
• Stay up to date with developments and generate new ideas to draw audience’s attention.

What you bring along

• Bachelor’s degree in science, qualified marketer
• 8-10 years of experience in communications, branding or marketing support function in the diagnostics, pharma, or biotech industry
• Media relations experience is fundamental
• Supplier management skills or experience working in an agency
• Experience in B2B for international companies is required
• Knowledge in HTML/CSS, Adobe Creative Suite would be beneficial
• Design skills, an eye for aesthetics and for details of visuals and interactions
• Fluent in English, German or any other language is a plus
• Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability
• Flexibility and availability to travel for short and longer periods
