Over the past three years, Philip Morris International (PMI) has made a drastic pivot away from the marketing and sales of combustible cigarettes, and moved towards its Reduced-Risk Product (RRP) portfolio, focusing on its flagship product, IQOS. This launch of this product is PMI’s step forward to creating a smoke-free future for legal age consumers who continue to enjoy tobacco, but are seeking smoke-free alternatives. All of this has been accompanied by an organization-wide transformation in ways of working, culture, and strategy, with emphasis on digital, consumer and collaborator strategies.

Digital Solutions Intern

We’re looking for you
  • Enrolled active student pursuing a degree in Operations, Engineering (with focus on process optimization), Information systems, Mathematical Statistics or relevant area
  • Highly skilled in visualization and reporting of model results on Power BI and/or other visualization tools
  • Skilled in Statistical, Data modeling and science with experience is a plus
  • Good communication skills, able to translate quantitative results into business insights
  • Self-driven and independent mindset
  • Customer-oriented and problem-solving mind
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
You will join the Digital and Analytics within Operations Strategy and Results Delivery Team in Lausanne, Switzerland and work in close collaboration with PMI central function teams and PMI technology vendors to assist in end-to-end use and validation of optimization technology in PMI business processes.

As an intern, aligned with the Project Based Organization (PBO) concept, we count on you to achieve these following activities

∙ Lead an End to End project from idea generation, experimentation and industrialization/implementation. (inclusive of governance and rollout)

∙ Create visuals and reports that will assist PMI users comprehend outputs of optimization models and identify root causes of model results

∙ Keep and track backlog of issues for improving optimization models exceptions, data quality, reporting, output validation, and others

∙ Identify, create and land digital solutions and digital projects
