Job Description

DePuy Synthes Supply Chain is recruiting for a Direct Material (DM) Risk Analyst (Professional Level 24. We are open to consider the role to be based at any one of our DePuy Synthes sites, with preference for the following countries – US; Switzerland; Ireland

The Analyst serves as a critical link with high-risk suppliers to manage risk, monitor latest developments, and drive mitigation actions. This role works directly with Source, Production Planning and DM suppliers. This position is required to develop scenario-based analyses to evaluate options and develop contingency plans with external direct material suppliers and their extended supply chains.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Prepare, conduct, analyze and maintain Value Chain Maps and FMEA processes to identify critical short, mid, and long-term risks (cross-industry)
  • Illuminate supply network constraints and propose actions and trade-off decisions consistent with business priorities
  • Ownership of daily, weekly, and monthly reports
  • Analyze macro-trends to extrapolate possible risks and their impact on the DPS business
  • Engage with suppliers to understand their risk management strategy, approach to Supply Chain visibility, and Business Continuity Planning
  • Analyze data to determine risk areas within the supply chain that will provide immediate relief of acute risks and help alleviate future risk for DPS
  • Effectively collaborate with Source Category, EMSI, and Materials Planning teams
  • Document risks, signposts, mitigation plans, and changes; Track supplier inputs as part of a dynamic risk model; continuously update and refine scoring and signposts, and develop recommendations where relevant
  • Where necessary, advance the set up of repeatable and systemized processes to supervise multiple risk areas and surface relevant new information

Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in a Business-related field of study, Supply Chain, Data Sciences or Engineering field is required
  • 2-3 years of work experience in related areas such as Supply Chain, Direct Material/Logistics Purchasing, Value Chain Engineering, Risk Management including dealing with Suppliers is required
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to work effectively with others and ability to collaborate cross-functionally and globally is required
  • Comfort working sophisticated problems with tight deadlines and prioritizing assignments/projects and multi-tasking within restricted time constraints is required
  • Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and to work with a high degree of autonomy is required
  • Commit to results with an ability to lead and effect change in the face of challenges
  • Ability to use and navigate ERP (SAP/JDE), Planning System (APO/OMP), MS Excel, and Business Intelligence tools is helpful and is preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills are required
  • The ability to develop data and leverage metrics and analytics to generate insights for continuous improvement is required
