DIRECTOR, EUROPE AND GCC REGIONAL PARTNERSHIPS

Position Summary

This is a truly unique opportunity to play an instrumental role in the expansion plans of Global Blood Therapeutics.

The Europe and GCC Regional Partnerships role will drive the execution of a productive, collaborative partnership with our EU/GCC partner(s) in accordance with contractual terms, to achieve mutually agreed upon business results.

This is key role that will work with our selected partner(s) to execute on joint commercialization strategy and ensure that the partner operates in accordance with contract terms, while coordinating with key functions within GBT to ensure success of the collaboration. This role is highly cross-functional, requiring effective communication and collaboration with their teams, partner stakeholders and respective leadership. The position reports to the Head of Business Operations and Partner Markets Europe & GCC and is based in Switzerland.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Establishing credibility, trust, and respect with the partner organization
  • Manage day to day relationships with our partner and ensure integration into GBT business
  • Maintain a constructive attitude and fosters a positive, solution-oriented environment
  • Broaden and deepen existing relationship to discover additional areas of strategic collaboration
  • Establish common understanding of the operational framework, drive governance bodies to ensure partnership progress
  • Participate in partner’s strategy, tactical, and business planning process, ensuring alignment with GBT vision and compliance
  • Ensure impeccable execution and timely delivery of collaboration milestones by aligning internal and external stakeholders
  • Proactively identifies potential challenges within the partnership and works with internal and external stakeholders to implement risk mitigation plans
  • Timely escalation of critical issues to Senior Leadership
  • Establish regular communication with partners, governance committees and other key stakeholders
  • Prepares the GBT team for governance committee meetings and business reviews. Supports the development of meeting objectives and agendas, coordinates and creates meeting slide content, and negotiates and records minutes and action items. Attends all committee meetings and other partnership meetings as necessary
  • Actively challenges assumptions in constructive manner, and works with the Teams and partner in problem solving and solution development
  • May require a flexible work schedule outside of standard business hours due to partner time zone differences. Up to 20% travel may be required
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of relevant experience and has earned a BS or equivalent degree; MS, MBA or equivalent may be desirable
  • Strong business and financial acumen combined with excellent analytical skills
  • Track record of having managed successful partnerships preferred
  • Middle East/GCC experience is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, relationship building skills, ability to navigate organizations and with individuals at all levels
  • Self-driven individual with an entrepreneurial spirit willing to navigate within a lean structure
  • Strong negotiating skills and capacity
  • Highly customer focused
  • Fluency in English: any other European and/or Middle Eastern language are a strong asset
