Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Director of Global Supply Chain Communication for the MedTech business. Preferred locations for this role are Raritan, NJ and New Brunswick, NJ. Consideration will be given to candidates in proximity to a company facility in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Zug, Switzerland.

Job Description

This is a rare opportunity for an outstanding communications leader to join a dynamic, high impact team playing a critical part in the positioning of our medical technologies business, which includes surgical, orthopedic, vision and interventional solutions and related supply chain activities!

This communications leader will possess excellent business intuition, be digitally minded and have strong people leader skills. This individual will be a relationship-builder with a strong background in communication strategy, including executive positioning, external and internal communications, employee engagement, organizational change, as well as crisis and issues management.

This business strategist will have a proven record of success advancing high-impact communication programs and leading teams to success in sophisticated and complex organizations. They will drive collaboration with business partners, communication colleagues and other leaders across Johnson & Johnson, enabling solutions that advance the goals of Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain (JJSC) and the MedTech business, ensuring seamless execution of communication strategies and initiatives.

This important role sits on three global leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop communication plans and narratives to drive the highest impact.
  • Effectively handle urgent issues in collaboration with SMEs and enterprise communication partners to protect company reputation and enable positive customer experience
  • Amplify the MedTech Supply Chain (MTSC) story of transformation and growth, ensuring linkage to JJSC and the global MedTech business and franchise brands.
  • Design and implement executive platform strategy for select MedTech leaders, including crafting and implementing targeted executive positioning opportunities to advance business strategy and goals for MedTech and JJSC.
  • Partner with MedTech communication colleagues to support strong end-to-end collaboration and reinforce MTSC as a critical driver of innovation and growth for the business.
  • Advance a digital approach to communications using tools, data, and insights to solve problems and drive business results.
  • Develop and action effective change communication programs in alignment with J&J’s MedTech business to educate and engage MTSC partners in support of the MedTech business as it transforms its operations and reimagines the future of healthcare
  • Handle critical organizational communications for MTSC, including strategy, planning and implementation of town halls, leader calls, speaking opportunities, conferences, etc.
  • Support development and amplification of the JJSC strategic global narrative, identifying and sourcing examples from MTSC.
  • Lead client relationship management in MTSC, including developing and gaining support for Service Level Agreements (SLAs) of communication work.
  • Measure and supervise the quality and impact of internal communication activity.
  • Lead on the budget and coordinate with PR agencies to ensure excellent execution of projects.
  • Lead and empower direct reports, internal colleagues and vendor resources in support of MTSC and JJSC communication strategies
  • Promote a culture of dedication and continuous improvement that values learning, diversity, inclusion and quality in service of Johnson & Johnson’s commitment to patients, customers and health care providers.

Education

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; Advanced degree preferred.

Required

Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum 10 years in corporate communication or related field; 5 years’ people management experience
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, including garnering the respect and trust of senior colleagues.
  • Strong record of building/developing team capabilities, as well as leading fast paced teams with diverse skills and experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working in a global function and sophisticated business.
  • High degree of independent judgment and decision-making.
  • Possess outstanding problem-solving skills and strong strategic and critical thinking

Preferred
  • Experience in regulated industry

  • Up to 25% travel required
