Key Responsibilities

The Director of Network Strategy will:
  • Lead the development and deployment of JSC network strategies to ensure readiness and effectiveness of the end-to-end supply chain for emerging therapies. Strategies will build upon existing strengths while also creating additional capabilities to meet future needs.
  • Translate strategy to multiple levels in the organization to ensure it provides clear direction to all parties. This will include defining core/non-core platform capabilities and developing sourcing guidance aligned to these, while still considering unique product requirements.
  • Maintain strong connections to the upstream R&D (Discovery, Product Development and Supply) as well as the downstream Commercial organization to ensure solutions incorporate broad and diverse insights while ensuring end-to-end optimization.
  • Build and maintain external connections relevant to identifying marketplace and industry trends relevant to supply chain.
  • Support development of business cases for network related projects. CAR amounts will typically range from $10MM to $100MM.
  • Lead process to proactively identify emerging product portfolio trends relevant to supply chain capability and capacity, developing recommendation and securing leadership endorsement.

Education

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree (or university equivalent) in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or related field
  • Master’s degree in the above subject areas or an MBA is preferred.

Required

Experience and Skills:
  • A minimum of 10 years combined experience relevant to pharmaceutical supply chain, R&D, business development or similar areas
  • Recent experience working in Large Molecule Pharmaceutical R&D or Supply Chain operations
  • Experience leading large, complex and interdependent initiatives in a matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely across all levels of the global supply chain (including to senior leaders).
  • Ability to collaborate and influence across franchises, business segments and functions using data driven analyses and insights.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to translate internal and external insights into real-world strategies that can be adapted to the specific needs of the organization
  • Commitment to advancing our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion goals, including in how we attract, develop and retain the talent.

Preferred
  • Experience working across multiple business segments, functions and/or regions
  • Familiarity with common Large Molecule manufacturing technologies
  • Familiarity with financial analysis tools routinely used in business case valuation (e.g. NPV analysis).

  • This position may require up to 10% domestic and international travel
