About the job

As the Engineering Director of the Shopping Ads Advertiser Experience and System team, you will be responsible for building experiences for Shopping advertisers in Google Ads and Google Merchant Center, and for building systems to empower the advertisers to set up, manage and optimize their shopping campaigns.

In this role, you will collaborate with the Google Shopping Merchant team, the Shopping Ads UI team, the Google Ads Buying Platform team and many other channel serving teams to build a holistic advertiser experience, data platform, ads reporting, product insights, and campaign optimization functionality. You will partner closely with your Product, UX and Sales colleagues across various PAs to craft and deliver on our overall Shopping strategy at a global scale to help address the needs of our retailers, merchants and consumers.

In this role you will also work closely with senior engineering leads and other engineering leads in the Buying Platform and various partner teams to develop long term engineering vision.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with other leads in the Buying Platform and partner teams to develop and provide long term product and engineering vision for the team.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders across different areas to solve large scale technical and business challenges, effectively collaborate and influence to make the right business and technical decisions.
  • Interface with customers, identify their priorities, and incorporate feedback into the product and technical roadmap.
  • Manage a large group of engineers.
