The Director, Partnerships & External Supply Business Transformation Strategy is responsible for the End-to-End (E2E) Partnerships & External Supply (PES) strategy development and deployment. The role will perform global platform diagnostics with business insights to create a PES strategic direction. They will ensure strategic gaps are addressed with programs in short term & Long-Range Financial Planning (LRFP) profile over the planning horizon. They will shape and lead PES strategy while providing input and influencing Manufacturing Technical Operations (MTO), Janssen Supply Chain (JSC) and Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain (JJSC) strategy on external manufacturing excellence and best in class. They will ensure strategic plans are aligned across all PES platforms and within MTO, JSC and JJSC strategic plans. This role will also benchmark other J&J and external companies and industries to identify best in class processes to support continuous improvement of business processes, systems, and initiatives.

Additionally, this role will also lead the PES cascade development and Goals and Objectives. This leader will support key financial processes for PES (Business Plan, LRFP, etc.) and be responsible for the PES communication and branding strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Develops, consolidates, and influences the overall PES strategy in partnership and collaboration with the PES Platform Leaders including new Modalities and PES Localization team and APAC Team.
  • Ensures that PES strategy is connected E2E with all key partners: DPDS, Source, Plan, Source, Deliver
  • Serves as PES Representative in the JSC Strategy Team. Actively participates and connects PES to the overall strategy as well influences the strategic direction.
  • Serves as PES Representative in MTO strategy forums.
  • Governs and coordinates the network optimization process and portfolio initiatives for PES aligning with all cross functional partners as appropriate: PES Platform Leads, MTO, JSC Network Strategy Team, EQ, Plan, Tech Ops etc.
  • Establishes a sustainable process as well as well-defined and documented mechanisms for proactively monitoring external manufacturing trends in the industry.
  • Leads and conducts external benchmarking efforts to identify best practice applications in business capabilities, and network design. Shares these benchmarks with platform leaders.
  • Leads annual PES Cascade and Goals and Objectives development, review, and prioritization in alignment with JSC, MTO and PES Leadership. Tracks performance against objectives
  • Owns the PES Innovation Council process and continues to mature the process to further leverage and augment the innovation exchange with our strategic partners. Ensures innovation process is connected E2E from DPDS all the way to deliver and it is connected and filtered into CMO account plan level in a closed loop approach as appropriate.
  • Process owner for all PES Strategy Processes: Platform network strategies, innovation council, business planning, capability inventory etc.
  • Supports key financial process and establishes best practices for all platforms (BP, LRFP)
  • PES Communication and Branding.
  • Lead select PES projects / programs as appropriate.

Qualifications

Required:
  • A Bachelor’s degree (University Degree).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in End-to-End Supply Chain.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Strategy Development.
  • Extensive knowledge of core Supply Chain Business Processes.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry.
  • Position may require up to 25% travel, both domestic and international.

Preferred
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Life sciences or Supply Chain.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical Industry (Large Molecule, Parenteral, Vaccine, Biopharma).
  • Six Sigma Certification (Green or Black Belt).
  • PMP, APICS or other industry certification.
  • Knowledge of JJOS / JJPS.
