We are seeking a Director of Talent Planning and Development, who will lead execution of the global Talent Development strategy for Alnylam’s International Markets, while also contributing to global talent development programming. This role will be based in Alnylam’s Zug, Switzerland office and will be expected to work in a hybrid capacity. In addition to the core responsibilities, this individual will act as HR site lead for Zug International HQ. The Director will directly report to the VP, Talent Management based in Alnylam’s Cambridge, MA headquarters while also leading under the guidance of the VP of HR, International Markets.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Talent Development Leadership for International Markets (60%)

  • Partnering with the VP, Talent Management in translating and promoting and deploying the global Talent Development Strategy into Alnylam’s international markets
  • Serve as a partner to the VP of HR in crafting Talent Development strategies across Alnylam’s International Markets in aligning talent development initiatives with regional talent needs, while also directly partnering with Country Managers and in-region organizational leaders on scoping talent gaps and development priorities
  • Serving as the lead program facilitator and instructor for local talent development workshops in partnership and alignment with Alnylam’s global Talent Development portfolio


Global Talent Development and Team Effectiveness (15%)

  • Serving as a lead global facilitator for global team effectiveness programs and workshops, including DiSC Workplace Team Assessment, New Leaders/Team Assimilations, Team Norming, and other sessions across regions and Expertise Areas
  • Contributing to Alnylam’s ongoing portfolio of global Elective Learning workshops through facilitation across programs


Performance Consulting and Talent Management (15%)

  • Ongoing partnership with Alnylam’s global HR Business Partners on targeted team trainings and development initiatives along with curated programs and curriculum aligned to the global Talent Development strategy
  • Direct partnership with VP, Talent Management on annual Talent Management activities such as supporting Organizational Talent Review, Succession Planning, Successor Development and Risk review, and supporting Alnylam’s annual performance management cycle and program in partnership with Alnylam’s Compensation and HR Business Partner teams


International Market Orientation & Onboarding Leadership (10%)

  • In partnership with the Associate Director, Talent Planning (US) oversight and leadership of Alnylam’s International Markets orientation program, specifically for Alnylam’s European Markets, while partnering with HR Business Partnership in Alnylam’s Asia Pacific regions on translating international onboarding
  • Leveraging and guiding internal resources to support the logical preparation and execution of onboarding details for new hires


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience required, such as Human Resources, Organizational Development, Learning and Development or related experience to the role. Demonstrated relevant experience in talent management and development will be strongly preferred
  • Experience across international regions, specifically, Europe, is required with a demonstrated ability to partner with and effectively instruct across multi-national countries
  • Demonstrated experience in course and curriculum design directly aligned to organizational need along with experience on instructional design required
  • Highly proficient to masterful classroom/workshop facilitation skills in both in=person and virtual settings is required
  • A demonstrated ability to effectively partner with business leaders and HR colleagues to appropriately align learning and development solutions is required
