For our Bern site, we are currently looking for a new

Director Utilities

As a successful Director Utilities, you are responsible for all functions in conjunction with Utilities and energy efficiency programs, such as (but not limited to) the Go Green initiative. You ensure a safe and reliable operation and maintenance of the Utilities facilities and further development of the site with regard to safe, GMP-compliant, demand-oriented and sustainable Utilities facilities.

In this important position, you are a member of the M2U leadership team and report directly into the Head of Maintenance and Utilities. You lead or actively support global initiatives and projects and represent Utilities during inspections. You closely interact with local legal authorities.

These Are Your Main Responsibilities
  • Establishing and maintaining strategies, operational plans, KPl’s, necessary measures and regular control and to achieve strong utilities results
  • Being a leader who provides guidance, direction and develops and empowers employees to meet both their career goals and the organizational targets
  • Achieve excellent results for quality, safety, reliability and cost planning
  • Ensuring availability and performance of all Utilities functional areas to achieve the desired production output
  • Owning processes for all investment projects of the department Utilities
  • Initiating project proposals for upgrades and extensions of Utilities related to CSL’s growth and replacement strategy
  • Communicating the progress at the M2U leadership team and at the global level and ensuring all utilities activities comply with global compliance regulations, relevant acts, legal demands and CSL’s Code of Conduct
  • Proactively managing internal and external relationships to deliver on goals
  • Achieving an optimal inspection readiness, including appropriate preparation to enable a positive execution of all regulatory inspections and other third party audits
  • Optimizing resource and execution planning as well as identifying and implementing continuous process, productivity, and cost improvements

Furthermore, You Possess The Following Competencies
  • University degree and a strong background in a pharmaceutical utilities organization with understanding of the needs of stakeholders from the areas: Quality, Manufacturing Operations and familiarity with Regulatory, GxP and Compliance
  • Several years’ managerial experience and a track record in Engineering and/or Utilities settings in a pharmaceutical or biotechnological industry
  • Outstanding leadership competencies, with which you motivate, engage and develop large populations and drive results as a community
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across divers functions regionally and globally
  • Strong communication, incl. inspirational and influencing skills with the ability to provide and live “the big picture”
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management and understanding of business value drivers
  • Strong ability to lead audits and inspections
  • Highly motivated attitude with operational excellence mindset and good technical understanding
  • Fluent German and English skills
