At Actelion Pharmaceuticals, a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, we’re recruiting for a multifaceted and engaged EHS Engineer (m/f/d) to join our EHS team at our office location in Allschwil, Switzerland.

EHS Engineer

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

• Implementation, management and monitoring of EHS programs, policies, and procedures
• Maintaining and continuously improve the site’s EHS management system
• Site competent person for environmental health & safety with focus on office safety, emergency management, first aid, fire safety, contractor management and ergonomics
• Providing advice and support to employees and management on Swiss EHS legal and J&J EHS guidelines and standards incl. impact of relevant changes on the business
• Training, mentoring and coaching of supervisors & employees to continuously improve EHS performance and raise EHS awareness
• Evaluation of the organization’s procedures, facilities and equipment by conducting inspections and risk assessments to identify unsafe actions/conditions and to implement safeguards and risk mitigation measures
• Maintain site EHSS legal requirements, permits and records register and EHS CAPA database
• Single point of EHS contact for small office in the EHS campus
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent
• Appropriate Swiss EHS qualification as Safety Engineer or Safety professional (SUVA / EKAS / Industry recognized EHS qualifications at EHS practitioner level)
• 4-6 years of EHS experience
• Technical experience in different EHS areas including occupational safety, emergency management, office safety, fire safety, crisis management, business continuity, ergonomics
• Project management skills
• Knowledge of relevant EHS legislative requirements
• Experience of working with/deployment of management systems such as ISO14001 is preferred
• External/internal EHS auditing experience is preferred
• Advanced in German and English language
• Proficient in MS Office environment (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
• Maintaining high degree of confidentiality and professional integrity at all times
