- The scope includes the definition of the strategic directions and guidance to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous EHS performance improvement, the development of EHS organisational competencies, capabilities and culture at manufacturing sites.
- Definition and monitoring of leading and lagging KPIs to track trends & progress and prevent deviations is part of the position as well as reporting on performance to Executive Board, the CSR review and Global Compact Communication of Progress.
- The candidate should have experience in establishing a risk management strategy, the audit process across the manufacturing network and Perform EHS due diligence efforts as required.
- Provide support and advice for Business Continuity Management, Corporate Social Responsibility, Supplier Relations Management and other Corporate EHS related programs as appropriate.
- Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering with minimum 15 years’ experience preferably in chemical, pharmaceutical or biotech industry in EHS related areas.
- Strong experience in providing direction to EHS teams in highly regulated environment.
- Organised, energetic, positive, enthusiastic leader, able to motivate and inspire teams to make a big impact and deliver their best every day despite all challenges. Change leadership, engagement, curiosity for new regulation and technology. Team builder and team player, result oriented and able to work & lead cross functional and multicultural teams.
- Sensitive and concerned about security, eager to implement a safe, sustainable and healthy working environment.
- Proven track record in EHS management at group level and expertise in EHS fields. Proficient in analysing financial, quantitative and qualitative data to take decisions in a timely manner, provide insights and recommendations. Out of the box thinking to optimize the delivery on time of the initiatives.
- Experience in managing significant programs in different locations across the world, in line with local regulations and market constraints, and building up local or global partnership to optimize resources, cost and time.
- Leadership experience in organizational and interpersonal skills, at ease with executive level, courage to initiate and drive changes, while balancing risks and striving for success. Experience in a global matrix organization or experience in leading a global organisation is a plus.
- Fluent in English, preferably another European language.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, in line with position needs.
